Dolce & Gabbana Sicilian Carretto eyewear

Dolce & Gabbana Sicilian Carretto eyewear
-

Dolce & Gabbana always takes inspiration from their heritage and lands and the Spring/Summer 2016 is no different. The Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2016 collection is inspired by the Sicilian Carretto. For those of you who have never heard of this piece of art, a Sicilian Carretto (or cart) is a colourful and heavily decorated cart drawn by donkeys or horses in Siciliy. They are truly unique and have a long tradition as they became popular starting from the 1920s.

The collection is made up of four different eyewear styles and first out is the Dolce & Gabbana DG 4278. These acetate sunglasses keeps the iconic tree motieves on the arms. On the striped version the Sicilian Carretto decors are in relief. There are four versions of the front part combined with shaded lenses: black acetate with grey lenses, blu with blu lenses, white with cognac lenses or orange with grey lenses.

The Carretto colours are the absolute protagonists of the Dolce & Gabbana DG 4277 sunglasses. These 50’s inspired metal and acetate sunglasses have got a cat-eye shape. They are available in five different colours with shaded lenses that enhances the colour contrast between the inside and outside of the frame. This style also comes as eyeglasses in four different colours.

Last but not least the style that fits everyday. The Dolce & Gabbana DG 3246 has got a soft cat-eye shape and is made out of the best Italian acetate. The inside of the arms is in contrast with the outside in the more classical colours like havana and black while the more bold chooses the Carretto styled version.
