Mido 2024, eyewear trends

Mido 2024, eyewear trends
-

Milan hosted the 2024 edition of the Mido from February 3rd to 5th. Mido is the most important international eyewear fair.

The 52nd edition has unveiled this year’s eyewear trends.

The frames will have opposite trends: bold and oversize sunglasses and eyeglasses frames will be placed side by side with thinner squared frames which tend towards rectangular shapes.

The Bayonetta style, inspired by the 2000s, will be back in vogue. Metal or acetate frames with reduced dimensions and squared, oval or soft shapes will be the big trend for the upcoming Spring / Summer season.

The Bayonettas will be the final touch to complete your look and will go perfectly along with both a sporty and elegant outfit.

Color-wise, we will stretch from clear to classic black frames and vivid colors with more soft nature-inspired shades.

The Peach Fuzz has been chosen as 2024 Pantone color: it is warm, enveloping, the elegance of the peach and pink shades can be found in the best brands’ sunglasses and eyeglasses. Turquoise and purple will also be protagonists with original patterns and structures.

The fil rouge of 2024 trends will be tied to sustainability, which has become the main priority for eyewear brands. The most used materials are now recycled plastic, bio-acetate, bio-based carbon and bio-nylon lenses.

Center stage for technology and innovative design. Among the brands that are more tuned in with these themes we find Silhouette, that at the 2024 Mido has presented their new sunglasses and eyeglasses models and has celebrated its iconic Titan Minimal Art’s 25th anniversary. A high tech model in titan, without screws, hinges, weighing just two grams, it has been selected to be worn in Space.

The young ambassador Alyssa Carson, aspiring astronaut, was a guest at the launch of the new international campaign “Born on Earth. Worn in Space” that has been realized with the help of AI both for space backgrounds and characters.

No less important are the companies that propose handmade limited series for which the human intervention is able to shape unique original pieces.

What are you going to wear next Spring/Summer?
